Ontelaunee Park has a long history that our society and Lynn Township have worked to preserve. From the early twentieth century, the grounds were home to an amusement park with rides, a restaurant and stage for many performers including Sally Star, Willy Nelson, Hank Williams, Jr, and Dolly and Shorty Long! The swimming pool, where the dog park is now located, was host to many from as far as Reading, PA. Quite an easy trip - they just took the train for 5 cents!
It was known as 'Just a beautiful spot' for picnic goers back in the day and still serves the community as a place of serene beauty. Today you will find some of the Lynn-Heidelberg Historical Society's treasured buildings overlooking soccer fields, pavilions and walking trails. It is also home to our annual Pioneer Apple Fest!
