On October 5, 1999, the Historical Society was founded. It is a non-profit corporation in the Commonwealth of Pa., and designated as a 501(c)(3) Charitable Organization under federal tax law.

The purpose of the Society, as set forth in its Articles of Incorporation, is: The support of an educational undertaking by promoting the discovery, collection, preservation, archive, display, interpretation, and publication of the history, historical records, culture, landmarks, artifacts, memorabilia, and data of, and relating to, the Townships of Lynn and Heidelberg and its surrounding area.

The Society is actively seeking donations of artifacts and memorabilia relating to the history of Lynn and Heidelberg Townships and is currently looking for volunteers to assist with event planning and staffing, and historical research.
